Keir Starmer Announces New Cabinet Following Landslide Victory
Starmer has begun announcing the members of his new cabinet following the Labour Party's win in the 2024 general election.
The Shadow Cabinet, which was disbanded after Starmer became Prime Minister, was responsible for scrutinizing government policy on behalf of the Labour Party.
Labour's victory marks the first time the party has ousted a sitting Conservative government in over a decade.
Starmer has said he is committed to forming a government that will "work for all Britons" and address the country's many challenges, including the cost of living crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new cabinet is expected to include a number of high-profile Labour MPs, including shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves and shadow foreign secretary David Lammy.
