Women Urged To Apply For Plastic Surgery Scholarships

Women urged to apply for plastic surgery scholarships

Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) is a mental health condition where a person is preoccupied with one or more perceived flaws in their appearance. This preoccupation can cause significant distress and impairment in a person’s life.

BDD is often treated with a combination of therapy and medication. However, for some people, plastic surgery can be an effective way to improve their appearance.

The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) is offering scholarships to women who are considering plastic surgery to treat BDD. The scholarships will cover the cost of surgery, as well as the cost of therapy and aftercare.

BAAPS president Rajiv Grover said: "We are delighted to be able to offer these scholarships to women who are struggling with BDD. We believe that plastic surgery can be a life-changing treatment for people with this condition."

To be eligible for a scholarship, women must be over 18 years old, have a diagnosis of BDD, and be able to demonstrate that they have tried other treatments without success.

The closing date for applications is 31st March 2023. For more information, please visit the BAAPS website.
